One of the most important things that you can do is to stay safe when handling a possum.  Never try to grab a possum by its tail or head. Instead, use gloves and a cloth to capture it safely.

If you see a possum on your property, the best thing to do is contact a professional possum removal service person. A Possum may be aggressive if it feels threatened and will attack if it feels cornered. Make sure that you release the possum into a secure location, such as a wildlife refuge or another nearby location where it will be safe.

Also, try not to feed the possum. You can also use a live trap to catch a possum. Set the trap in a shady spot and bait it with some fruit or vegetables. Once you trap the possum, take it to a wildlife center or kill it humanely.

If all of these measures fail, you may need to call a professional to remove the possum from your property.
